Matt Latimore
Founder & President
Matt Latimore is President of M Resources Pty Ltd a company he founded the group in 2011 to focus on marketing, investment and trading of metallurgical coal and other steelmaking raw materials.
M Resources is among the top 3 seaborne metallurgical coal movers in the world, exporting over 20 million metric tonnes annually. Matt is a Non-Executive Director of Stanmore Resources, GM3 (which owns Illawarra Coal Holdings).
Prior to establishing M Resources, Matt held various positions with Mitsui & Co Coal Department. He then joined Wesfarmers Curragh Coal as General Manager Sales and Marketing, responsible for global sales to steel mills and power utilities, rail, port facility and finance functions. He was also a Director of Curragh Coal Sales.
Matt holds a Bachelor of International Business from Griffith University, an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and the Columbia University Senior Executive Program in New York. He also holds an Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management from the University of Western Australia and a Diploma of Export Management from the Australian Institute of Export.
Ben Gargett
Group Chief Financial Officer
As Group Chief Financial Officer of M Group, Ben Gargett leads the company’s global financial strategy and operations. Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Group CEO, Ben is responsible for finance, consolidation, asset advisory, and group-level management across M Group’s growing international footprint.
Ben brings over 25 years of experience in the mining and resources sector, having held senior leadership roles at PwC including Audit Partner, CFO Advisory Practice Lead for Melbourne, and Australia-Africa Practice Leader. His appointment reflects M Group’s ongoing commitment to financial strength and strategic growth across infrastructure, mining, and critical minerals.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Accounting & Finance from Monash University and currently serves as a Committee Member of the Melbourne Mining Club and Director of the National Asthma Council of Australia. He is also a former Vice Chair of the Australia-Africa Minerals & Energy Group (AAMEG).
Tim Peirce
Chief Commercial Officer
With over two decades of experience in the Australian mining and resources industry across roles primarily in marketing and business development, Tim Peirce has held key roles at prominent companies, including Wesfarmers and BHP Billiton.
As Chief Commercial Officer at M Resources Trading Pty Ltd, Tim is responsible for overseeing M Resources’ commercial and operational relationships in the coal market including sales, sourcing and logistics. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.”
Aidan Meka
Chief Investment Officer
As M Resources’ Chief Investment Officer, Aidan Meka plays a pivotal role in steering the company’s strategic investment initiatives. His multifaceted background encompasses extensive experience in finance, marketing, and sales, with a focus on the dynamic intersections of the finance and mining sectors.
Prior to his current position, Aidan contributed significantly to the success of Coronado, holding positions such as Manager, Strategi Planning & GM – Treasury, Investment Valuations & Management, Investor Relations. Aidan Meka’s trajectory in the finance and mining industries reflects not only his professional versatility but also his commitment to driving success across various facets of resource management and investment endeavours.
Tom Cobcroft
Chief Operating Officer – Open Pit, for M Group
Tom is an experienced mining executive with over 30 years of global leadership across coal, base and precious metals. He has a proven track record of transforming complex operations into safer, more productive and commercially disciplined businesses.
He has led major turnarounds, large-scale project developments and value-chain optimisation across multinational portfolios, holding senior roles with Newmont, Anglo American and Wesfarmers. Tom is known for driving performance, strengthening safety and risk frameworks, and delivering long-term strategic outcomes.
A respected leader in both operational and board environments, he brings deep expertise in governance, capital discipline and stakeholder engagement, and is recognised for his pragmatic, results-driven approach.
Tom currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Mount Isa Minerals and contributes to the Australian Road Safety Foundation. He holds advanced qualifications in mining engineering, geology and business, and is a Fellow of AusIMM.
Craig McLane
Managing Director – USA & Global Trade Finance
Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Craig is a senior executive in international finance with 25 years of experience spanning commodity trade finance, corporate finance, FP&A, middle and back-office trading operations, and international tax.
Craig serves as Managing Director – USA & Trade Finance, leading global banking relationships, trade finance structures, and manages the global financial trading operations for M Group. He also leads the M Resources USA teams, operations, and strategic initiatives.
Craig earned his M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Business, and a B.A. from Westminster College. He serves on the Board of Directors for the American Coal Council and is an Independent Director for M EVO Global Acquisition Corp II (NASDAQ: MEVO).
Wayne Bull
Executive Advisor
Wayne is a qualified Mining Engineer and a Mining Executive with over 40 years of experience in the resource sector with a track record of delivering improved strategic, operational, commercial and technical performance.
Starting as a Mining Apprentice in the UK coal industry, before going on to hold senior roles in Australia in companies such as Shell, Anglo, BHP and South32. Wayne has extensive experience in the contracts sector and has held roles as Operations Manager with Thiess Contractors and Chief Executive Officer at WDS Ltd.
Wayne is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and has significant knowledge across a broad range of skills including, strategic development, business improvement, operational optimisation, technical management, organisational design, commercial, contractor management and industrial relations.
Ram Madiraju
Director, Sales & Marketing
Ram brings with him 17 plus years of industry experience to the M Resources team in the areas of strategic procurement, marketing, trading, and dry bulk shipping & logistics. Prior joining M Resources, Ram had worked with Tata Group in several functions and undertaken leadership roles delivering significant value across commercial & operational areas.
An Engineer and MBA by qualification, he has handled roles & projects in corporate development, strategic planning, business forecasting, cost reduction, and commercial excellence. Ram is passionate about digitization and leveraging analytics in managing commodity supply chain risks.
Tracey McKenzie
Head of People & Culture
Tracey is a business leader with human capital expertise, and significant global experience. She’s worked across more than 30 Countries, in mining, metals & minerals, manufacturing and technology.
She specialises in building optimal businesses via better people structures and enabling high performing teams, with considerable M&A and integration experience. Currently utilising her experience to support the building and development of the M Group’s global platform.
Tracey holds a Business Degree in HR & Industrial Relations – Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and an MBA in International Business.
